Harlem Frames is proud to present the American Boricua Summer Gallery Talk Series with photographer and author Wanda Benvenutti.
Throughout the summer, Wanda brings her ongoing American Boricua documentary project to Harlem Frames for a series of conversations exploring photography, Puerto Rican identity, the Nuyorican experience, and the tradition of documentary storytelling.

Wanda is joined by distinguished Boricua documentary photographer Maximo Rafael Colon, whose work has documented the Nuyorican experience for more than four decades and has been exhibited internationally.

Legendary documentary photographer and Magnum Photos member Eli Reed, Wanda’s longtime mentor, joins the conversation to discuss his work and experience in documentary photography.

Wanda returns for the final gallery talk of the series, sharing her American Boricua documentary work and previews from her upcoming book.
The exhibition remains on view at Harlem Frames throughout the series, bringing together photography, conversation, and stories of the Puerto Rican diaspora.
